Description

You will be surprised how quickly you will learn to windsurf up and down on your own.

But don't be alarmed if you spend some time swimming at the start.By the end of the course, you will be well on your way to becoming a Flying Fish!

Warning, when you first experience 'The Feeling' on a windsurfer you may very well be hooked for life!

Course content

Day 1

  • Introduction to windsurfing: Recognition of the characteristics of the wind (on shore -off shore, directions and intensities) and the tools we have for it (trees, windsocks, anemometers). First approach to the windsurfing equipment (parts and functions, sail, mast, boom and board), Physical preparation prior to the first sailing experience (observe the center of balance of the body and how it interacts with the sail), Distribution and posture of the body when lifting the sail from the water and how to balance it so that the board moves on the water. Promote the proper use of elements (vest, helmet, radio) and safety areas, Correct positioning of the equipment to start sailing (wind direction, water behavior, safe areas) Get on the board, raise the sail, keep the balance and move on the water a few meters. In this first session, the return to the beach will be assisted by the instructor.

Day 2

  • Observation of the characteristics of the wind and use of the tools we have for it, remember the names of the parts of the windsurfing equipment (sail, mast, boom, board, keel). Promote the proper use of items (vest, helmet, radio) and safe navigation areas. Development of proper posture and balance skills on the board. Experiment and understand some steering maneuvers (sail movements and rotation of the board, tacking. Sailing in different directions, starting to tack without falling into the water, tacking to reach the same starting point on the beach.)

Day 3

  • Assembly and disassembly of the sail, relationship of equipment size with weight and skill level of the sailor. Identify areas of higher and lower wind, identify wind direction and intensity over the water (gusts). Learn the wind rose. Develop proper navigation posture to increase power and performance of the equipment, as well as reduce efforts and avoid muscle fatigue. Improve balance to achieve greater power and synchronization in navigation movements. Objective: Go and return to the same point.

Day 4

  • The student will learn more about the correct setting of the sail, what is known as basic sail trim, the ability to navigate with other sailors and execute the upwind exercise to be able to navigate to different points advancing in against the wind These concepts are fundamental to be able to complete a circuit with buoys, for example.
