Course Overview

Day 1

  • Assembling and disassembling the sail, considering the relationship between equipment size, weight, and the skill level of the sailor. Identifying areas of higher and lower wind, determining wind direction and intensity over the water (gusts). Learning the wind rose, developing proper navigation posture to enhance equipment power and performance, while reducing effort and preventing muscle fatigue. Improving balance for increased power and synchronization in navigation movements. Objective: To go and return to the same point.

Day 2

  • On this second day, the student will learn more about the correct assembly of the sail, known as basic sail trimming. The ability to navigate with other sailors will also be reinforced, and the upwind navigation exercise will be practiced in order to sail to different points against the wind. These concepts are essential for being able to complete a circuit with buoys, for example.
